Overview
Proof9 is a sound rights platform where music creators protect, license, and monetize their sound IP through on-chain ownership, AI-powered originality verification, and real social connection with their fans and audience — powered by Story Protocol, Yakoa, and Tomo.
Problem
Music creators have no reliable way to prove ownership of their sound, prevent unauthorized use, or earn automatically from licensing — the music rights system is broken and opaque.
What I Built
Built an on-chain sound rights platform using Story Protocol for IP registration, licensing, and automated royalty distribution. Integrated Yakoa AI for originality verification, built a full backend with Bun and Hono, and used IPFS for decentralized storage. Most technically complex solo project to date.
Challenges
Story Protocol was early-stage with limited documentation — integrating IP registration, licensing terms, and royalty splits required deep protocol research. Making the on-chain ownership flow feel intuitive for music creators who aren't crypto-native was the key product challenge.
Outcome
Demonstrated full IP lifecycle — register, license, and earn — on-chain. Most technically complex solo project to date.
